Today we would like to celebrate Christmas Eve by commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission with the tapping of our Earthrise Holiday Stout. Fifty years ago on this day, the first manned mission to the moon accomplished ten lunar orbits with astronauts Frank Borman, Bill Anders, and Jim Lovell. During one of the orbits, Anders noticed the beautiful blue orb rising over the pale horizon of the lunar surface and snapped the photo that became one of the most iconic images of the twentieth century called “Earthrise.” In reverence to one of man’s greatest accomplishments and the holiday which it occurred, we would like to raise a glass of our Earthrise and say cheers, merry Christmas, and good will to all.
